- Enclosure is NEMA 4X, stainless steel, weather resistant.
Pharos is the first in an innovative, all-electronic family of LighthouseTM series ground fault
circuit interrupters designed by Power Electronic Systems for use in applications involving
personnel use of electrical tools or lighting.
Sandy Hook15TM  and Sandy Hook20TM  GFCIs
Features
- Applications: marine, diving, fire and safety vehicles, damp environments, industrial, military, commercial,
construction sites, home use, outside or inside, anywhere portable personnel protection from faulty
hand tools or lighting is needed.
- Light weight, sealed heavy gauge aluminum box painted OSHA Yellow.
- Multiple output receptacles to accomodate several output loads simultaneously.
- Powers up immediately when plugged in.
- TEST and RESET push-buttons conveniently located on top to assure working condition.
- Ground fault starts buzzer beeping and removes output a.c. power from receptacles.
- Operating temperature: -35C to +66C (-31F to +149F).
- All semiconductor switching. No unreliable relay contacts to arc and weld together.
- Internal electronic over-current circuit removes output power if load current
exceeds rating.
- Designed to meet or exceed UL943 and CSA-22.2 No. 144-M91 saftey specs.
- Meets usage requirements defined by the National Electrical Code 2002 and OSHA.
- State-of-the-art high reliability design: single point component failures either remove output
voltage or do not prevent ground fault detection.
- US Pat. 6,804,094.
Electrical Specifications
- Input: 110 to 125 VAC, 120VAC nominal, 60 HZ, grounded neutral.
- Rated output current: 15 A. max. for Sandy Hook15; 20A. max. for Sandy Hook20.
- Power capability (continuous): 1800VA for Sandy Hook15; 2400VA for Sandy Hook20.
- Fault current: 6 ma. trip min. per UL493, Class A. Sharp cutoff
of faults less than 6 ma. prevents spurious (false) trips from
high leakage power tool cables. Fault current can be factory
adjusted for special values.
- Fault trip time: 2 - 16 millisec., relative to phase of input
a.c. sine wave at time of fault and size of fault current.
- Over-current protection: electronic sensing and shutdown.
No fuse or circuit breaker.
- RESET button clears both a fault and an over-current event,
allowing full 120VAC output to exist.
- 2 ft. input power cord with molded NEMA 5-15P, L5-15P, 5-20P, or L5-20P plug, depending on model.
Mechanical Specifications
- Outside dimensions: 5" H x 6" W x 9" L.
- Weight: 7 lbs.
- Enclosure is NEMA-3R; is sealed against rain (water resistant).
- Two dual or four single covered output receptacles: NEMA 5-15R, L5-15R, 5-20R or L5-20R, depending on model.
- Can be operated in any of 3 positions if required. Not designed for
permanent or post mounting. Portable only.
- Convection cooled; no internal fan.
